Love the sea?  Take a tour of these sea-beaches in the state, find out how to get there, how long will it take?


Do you love the sea?  Love to sit alone on a lonely island and get lost in yourself or to talk to your loved one by soaking your feet in the waves of the sea in the late afternoon?  Then head out to these beaches a short distance from Kolkata.  Digha, there is Mandarmoni.  There are also a few more sea beaches in the state.  Their beauty is nothing less.  The state government's tourism department has taken various initiatives to make these beaches more popular.  Let us know about Digha, Mandarmoni as well as various information about these beaches.

Falta sea beach

Falta beach is now quite crowded.  Many people also come here for picnic in winter.  Not far away, the Damodar River merges with the Hooghly River.

How to get there?
It is only an hour and a half from Kolkata.  You can reach by your own car.  There are many public and private buses.

Where to staying?
Some hotels have sprung up to stay.  There are also luxury hotels.  However, many came to fruition and returned day after day.

Bakkhali Sea beach

This beach near the Bay of Bengal will definitely make you forget.  Fewer people still come to Bakkhali than other beaches.  Most people come to spend this weekend on this clean beach near Kolkata.  If you want to spend some time alone or with friends away from the hustle and bustle of the city, you must come to this beach.  From Bakkhali you can visit Frazerganj, Henry Island.  It would be nice to see the fishing port of Frazerganj.

How to get there?
Namkhana by train from Kolkata.  Then from there you can rent a car to go to Bakkhali.
You can also reach Bakkhali by road from Kolkata via Kakdwip.

Where to stay?
There are government lodges.  There are lots of private hotels, lodges, guest houses.

Sagardwip sea beach

The Ganges came to Sagardwip and met with the sea.  Millions of devotees gather to dive into this confluence of Capricorn.  The state government organizes Sagar Mela every year at that time.  Fans from home and abroad come to Kapil Muni's ashram to take a bath and worship.

How to get there?

Kakdwip by bus or car.  Then from there cross the ferry to Sagardwip.  Also train from Sealdah to Kakdwip or Namkhana station.  Then the ferry pier at Toto.  From there cross the Ganges by ferry.

Where to stay?

There are also many government guest houses, there are youth hostels.  There are also private hotels.

Tajpur sea beach

The more beautiful the place, the more beautiful the environment of this beach.  The beauty of this beach is unknown to many people.  So very few people crowd on this beach.  Recently, however, the crowd of tourists is increasing.

How to get there?

You can reach Tajpur by taking any long-distance bus from Balisai.  You can also get off at Digha station by train and rent a car to go to Tajpur.

Many hotels are being built these days because of the crowds.  Some have even become hotels.

Mandarmani sea beach

If you are a nature lover, then Mandarmoni beach will attract you.  You can also participate in a variety of adventure sports.  Sitting on the beach you can enjoy the amazing sunrise and sunset view.

Digha or Kanthi on the train.  Then in the car.  There are also plenty of public and private buses from Kolkata.

There is no shortage of accommodation.  Scattering of small and big hotels.

Digha sea beach

Digha and Bengali are synonymous.  People who did not go to Digha will probably not be found.  Digha is crowded throughout the year.  Whenever there is a holiday for two or three days in a row, the Bengalis leave for Digha.  The Digha Development Board and the Tourism Department have changed the face of Digha in the last few years.

How to get there?

Digha can be reached by train from Howrah.  There are also plenty of government and private buses from Dharmatala, Howrah.  Dighar buses are also available from various bus depots of the State Transport Department.  You can also go out with your own car.

There are plenty of government lodges.  There are many bungalows of different government offices.  Numerous small to large hotels.

Shankarpur sea beach

Located about 10 km from Digha, this Shankarpur beach is getting very crowded with tourists lately.  Tourists come here to see the amazing natural beauty.  Shankarpur fishing port is also worth visiting.

Reach Digha by train or bus from Kolkata and from there by car.
Where to stay?
Many hotels are being built these days because of the crowds.  Some have even become hotels.
