Temple (Chandaneswar Temple, Balasore, Odisha) - Only 8 km. Mr. (Distance
Between Digha and Chandaneswar Temple is 7 K. M.) This famous temple is located
in the distance. You can visit this temple by renting a small car or
Toto-rickshaw from Digha (Rent or Hire a Car). If you go on the left side of
the road in front of this temple, you can reach Talshari beach straight and if
you take the road on the right side, you can go to Bhusandeshwar temple and
Jaleshwar city. There are no idols in this temple. Here the formless Shiva is
worshiped. Very awake temple. Many devotees come from far and wide to worship.
Oriya Hindus and Buddhists call the Chaitra Sankranti of our Bengali calendar
as Pana Sankranti or Maha Bishub Sankranti. Every year at that time a huge fair
is held in the Chandaneswar Temple and its front area. If you want to stay
here, you have to stay at the panda's house, government hostel or Sita Hotel.
The two nearest railway stations are Digha (8 km) and Jaleshwar (36 km). From
here you can take a bus tour of Baleswar City and Chandipur Sea Beach.
Festive season
Many
peoples visits this temple during Pana Sankranti, the primary day of the Oriya Calendar. a good is organized within the premises on the
month of chaitra that's the last month of Bengali calendar, when people gather
from round the world to supply their prayers to Lord Shiva. The Temple is well
illuminated and appears wonderful to work out. The place is usually over
crowded during this festive season and lots of activities are often seen. Some
sing song while some meditate ahead of the Lord. they are doing fasting for
several days to satisfy their wishes. After variety of rituals like fasting,
prayer and removing Paitas the festival continues. The fair goes on for 10 or
14 days after the occasion.
Chandaneswar Temple is a very famous Shiva temple in Baleswar, Odisha. It is one of the oldest temples in around Digha.
